Steps of Publishing a Book

Let's start with the fact that publishing a book is not as complex as it used to be. True, it requires financial investment, perseverance, a positive mindset and a lot of patience. Fortunately, in today's reality, it is possible to publish books in various ways, such as print, digital and audiobook. The challenging part of the whole story is writing the story. 

Before we explain what it takes to publish a book, I will say this: writing a book should not feel like a burden, you can write a story of any kind easily and comfortably. You can even choose to publish a book in a genre that does not deal with your field of work at all. It's all a matter of desire and perseverance. 

How do we actually publish a book? 

Once we felt that the book was made and written to our satisfaction, already saying that at the time of writing the book went into effect this moment seemed like a moment that would never come, we proceeded to the following steps: 

• Literary editing.
• Grammatical edits.
• Graphics - If you are thinking of enlisting the help of mass recruitment - this is the stage to contact them to get a quote.
• Printing / Digital / Audio.
• Publishing and PR.

Despite this, some of us are still afraid to publish a book. I wonder why?

As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, today it is possible to publish books in various ways and it is possible to reach diverse and wide audiences in Israel and around the world. This is an expense that needs to be taken into account. My advice to you is to plan a strategy for the benefit. I can reassure you that your own book is a wonderful passive income. 

What to do in the case of a writing barrier?

One of the known obstacles in the world of writing is a writing barrier. This is a critical moment for the creator and if it lasts a long time it may be a problem for the work. This is an emotional barrier that is expressed in practice in a lack of writing. Many of the great writers have thought to themselves how can this barrier be overcome? And for the sake of interest I have included the following list of tips. But a second before I jump to the tips, I will share that even my book Openness in Strategy took me quite a while to write and I am still working on it these days. Sometimes the writing is abundant and fast and sometimes I come across a writing barrier. To be honest, the writing comes back to and suddenly there are plenty of words to spill over on paper.

Book Writing Tips 

• Write a little every day - up to 3 pages if possible in the first stage and from there continue.
• A barrier in writing can create a crisis but you will see that from there will come the breakthrough and inspiring writing.
• Write at a flowing pace and if you feel stuck in writing, keep writing something else.
• Search for 'your space’ and write. Enough with excuses.
• If you are a professional and your book deals with your field it is worth exploring the possibility of putting articles you have written in the book.
• If your book deals with a field that touches other fields, it is worth exploring the possibility of including expert words in the book that can contribute valuable and meaningful things to readers.
• Be sure to keep writing every day and whenever you can a little more and then a little more than that. As long as you continue to create a writing routine for yourself you will see the results quickly.

Remember that publishing a book is a process that requires patience and mental readiness, and  also very rewarding. It is recommended to consult and get help from close people who have written a book and hear what they think about the subject and/or how they did it. Remember that this is not something too complex compared to what we used to think and therefore, everyone can publish their own book in various ways and thus reach wide audiences in Israel and globally.
